What is the lifespan of a Pentair pool heater? ›

The average life of a pool heater is between 15 and 25 years with regular usage and proper maintenance, but there are various factors that impact that projection.

You need to make sure that the pH and alkalinity level of the pool water is at the level it needs to be to be sure the water is not too acidic or basic. Failure to do so can be detrimental to not only the pool but (HINT,HINT) the POOL HEATER, specifically the heat exchanger.

To find the number of BTUs needed to heat a pool to 80 degrees Fahrenheit on a typical 70-degree day, you should multiply your pool's number of gallons by four. So, a 15,000-gallon pool will need a pool heater size that can accommodate at least 60,000 BTUs to heat it during a 70-degree day because 15,000 x 4 = 60,000.
