These options are to be found on the Windows 7 DVD and are sometimes on the Recovery Partition of an OEM system when no DVD has been supplied.

Reboot your PC with the Windows 7 DVD in the drive.

When you see the Press any key to boot from DVD... prompt, do so.

Loading files might take some time.

Starting Windows

Screen 4
Select language, time and keyboard
Click Next

Screen 5
Click Repair Your Computer

Screen 6
Select the operating system to repair.
Click Next
Click Next even if no operating system is shown for selection.

Click the option you want to use

2. Using a Recovery Partition
Reboot the computer and press F8 repeatedly until the Advanced Boot Options screen below appears.
If the Windows 7 logo appears instead reboot and try again.
In the case of a dual boot system you must first select the operating system you wish to repair and then press F8

If the System Recovery Options have been installed on a Recovery Partition there will be an extra entry called Repair Your Computer.
Use the arrow keys to select this option.
Press Enter

Select language, time and keyboard
Click Next

Screen 3
Select the User name and type the appropriate password

Screen 4
Select the operating system to repair
Click Next
Click Next even if no operating system is shown for selection.

Click the option you want to use
